So, it’s Fall. Things are starting to cool down here in the great Midwest, whether we like it or not, and there are few things you should keep in mind to stay safe.
Fall Topic number 1: when you turn our clocks back, you should also replace your backup batteries in your smoke detector devices. Not only does this help to ensure your safety, it helps ensure you get a good night's sleep knowing you won't wake up at 2 o'clock in the morning with your smoke detector beeping to let you know that the battery is low. Nobody wants that!
Fall Topic number 2: as the cold weather sets in, the air pressure in your vehicle's tires changes. If you drive a newer car with the air pressure sensors in the wheels, you could get an indicator light on your dashboard notifying you of a low tire. Without question, you should check all of your tire’s air pressure on our first cold day below 50 degrees and again when we hit the freezing mark. If your indicator light comes on and you have checked your tires, which all read as adequate and the light is still on, don't forget that your spare tire also has a sensor. Spare tires are not always the easiest thing to get to, so if you're not familiar with how to access your spare, you should review your owner's manual and be prepared, as this is something you should know anyway.
Have a safe and prosperous Fall, and watch out for deer - they are moving right now!
